FORKING

What is your favourite quote and why? Who cares, its forking Friday…

Actually I do care; I love quotes whether it’s from a poem, song, movie, from novels – I like remembering my much-loved ones and using them sporadically and when the timing is right.

I seem to quote from Alice and her adventures in Wonderland quite a bit. Perhaps that’s because the great British novelist Lewis Carroll, wrote so brilliantly about pursuing dreams, taking risks and daring to try something new as depicted through the eyes of young Alice.

The word for the drawing game at MonkeySideBars for Wednesday Aug 13 was CHOICE: http://msbweb.wordpress.com/2014/08/06/choice

Using a Google reference for the fork in the road I drew this piece in Sketch Club and adding/changing quotes used from ‘Alice’. It was a quick sketch using basic brushes and I have no idea why I used the fuzzy brush at the end – I think I just got carried away.

“You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”

Some people think I’m crazy, wasting time on drawing – maybe I am, but I’d rather be crazy and creative and encourage others to follow. Whether it is drawing, writing…
“Why, sometimes, I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

So yesterday, I took my fork from my CHOICE drawing and manipulated it slightly. I drew some notepaper and added the letters WT “what the” – teenage jargon I’ve become accustomed to over the years. I only just found out what cba was but I’m learning. So once again I seemed to have got carried away with a patterned brush but it’s so easy to get lost in a doodle.

“It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.”
